St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery
St. Joseph Catholic cemetery is the newest addition to Bluffton Cemeteries. Bluffton Cemeteries are fully vested Perpetual Cemeteries and a portion of each space sale is tithed into our perpetual care fund to ensure that the grounds will be maintained and well cared for many generations to come. These sacred grounds, entrusted with our legacies, will continue to hold a special place in the hearts and prayers of this community.
It is our sincere prayer that St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery will not only serve the parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church, but be dedicated and serve the entire community and follow the examples of St. Joseph of Arimathea.
What is a Catholic Cemetery?
A Catholic cemetery is a sacred area with blessed ground that has been set apart as a place of prayer for our beloved deceased. (When a person is buried outside of a Catholic cemetery, the priest blesses the individual grave as a part of the committal ceremony at the graveside). Often, a Catholic cemetery will also have both statuary and monuments that serve as a visual reminder of our faith in Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the body.
Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Mark 15:43
